The Rainbow Connection

Took me a while to get back into the routine of life. It has been a month of traveling around Southeast Asia. Visited the Dierdens in Vientiane in May, then it was off to Danang, Hoi-An, Hue, Sapa and Hanoi in Vietnam with a few friends. Came back for a short while for Huan Yang's wedding, and then it was off to Phnom Penh for a short mission trip. Has been a good time of soul searching and reflection, especially at Vientiane and Phnom Penh. A tale of two different cities, with different spiritual and physical needs. Maybe I searched my soul a bit too hard at times. Was a bit morose when I came back. Was a good time of meeting up with P. Ian and others, as we exchanged ideas about Buddhism, social justice, spreading the gospel, social and political issues in Singapore, Laos and Phnom Penh. Slept at 7am and woke up to a strange argument with mom. Escaped to bucks in holland and started to think about my two main objectives for the rest of the year: writing the thesis and career-research. Will reflect about stepping down from youth ministry too, possibly next year.

Just packed my table and I feel like flying out of Singapore again. Oh well.

A spot in the universe

Married eyes upon a quiet night, where dreams navigate the tides of time. It is now hard to sketch a picture of emptiness, when the starlight has exhausted itself into nothingness. Space curls up at the point of non-redemption, and you wonder why of all nights, the devil chose that time to uncouple the mind. Like a chapter from the garden, all that is left is now a spot in the universe.
